God is so good!

As the warm weather came in this weekend, I began thinking about our trip and how incredibly close it is! Only a few more months until we'll be heading to Kenya for the summer. I got the final dates for the trip today: May 23-July 28th. Please continue praying for our summer there. We need one more guy to sign up so we can go.

My support is up to $1,075 and continuing to come in! Please continue to be praying that the Lord will provide all the funds for me and the other interns to be able to go this year. I'm so thankful for this opportunity and will be keeping everyone updated on my support. Thanks for reading!

These are a few pictures from our trip in 2007:

Kibera
While we were in Kibera, I remember singing this song with the kids. It was so delightful hearing them repeat: Nothing but the blood of Jesus. How true!

What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
Acts 4:12

This is what it's all about, and I'm so thankful to be apart of it.

Support in many different ways...

I am so blessed, more than I could ever know. Many of you know I work at East Lanier Community Church, and to be honest, I couldn't ask for a better church home.

This note on the right is just one of the many ways the children, youth, and adults have already started to participate in all the aspects of my upcoming trip to Kenya, physically and spiritually. I am surrounded by a Church home that is supporting me in many ways, encouragement and prayer, not just the finances. And I couldn't ask for more!

God has really been teaching me lately to just rest in Him. Not to worry about my support coming in, or the plans the Lord has for me, but that He knows what is needed, and He is faithful to provide. I am reminded of a verse in the Sermon on the Mount, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:33-34. Please be praying for me, as raising support always challenges me. Pray that I would trust in God, and know that He owns a thousand cattle upon a thousand hills, and He is ALWAYS faithful to provide.

For an update on my support account, I have $200 in my account, and A few checks and cash to turn into MTW next week. I'll make sure I keep an updated number on the column on the right.  If you feel led to contribute, please see the column on the right for ways you can donate. If you would like to have a letter sent to you, or have any questions, please contact me at cmcwhorter@eastlanier.org.
